Over het boek
In this portfolio of photographs i offer personal reflections on the Cumbrian Coast between 1994 and 2011, created using a rangefinder film camera and its standard lens. These images were developed from a first impression that this coastline was quirky. However, through continuing my photography, I have come to love this coastline in many other ways. Familiarisation has itself brought about an empathy and with this has come a feeling of quietude whenever I am there with my camera, regardless of the prevailing weather conditions.

I am a Fellow of the Royal Photographic Society and member of its Contemporary Group. In 1996 I helped to establish a new forum, Lancashire Monochrome, which is dedicated to the appreciation of the monochrome image (in its founding year I was elected as President and continued to serve in that capacity until 2017 when relocating to Cumbria (maintaining affiliation thereafter as an Honourary Member), see: www.lancashiremonochrome.co.uk)
