For years, I have been an oil pastel mad woman pumping out 10 or more drawings a day. I smear the oil pastels in swirls and stripes, squiggles and circles until an abstract face appears in front of me like a mirror for my mood. I let my subconscious dictate where my hand goes and faces pop out onto the paper- from the bizarre to the even more bizarre. But to me, they are all beautiful and so I continue to draw face after face after face...
