Over het boek
The "HMPS" are six like minded individuals with cameras - Mark Allatt, Ross Byers, Nigel Cockburn, Steve Jackson, Pauline McKenna and James Rose - all living within a five miles of the once grand - now forlorn - former Healey Mills TMD near Wakefield, West Yorkshire.
In the main chapter of this book you will find twenty images from each member of the HMPS spanning the whole of 2011, covering a large diversity of workings, photographic locations and Railway Operating Companies, both Mainline and Preserved/Private Railways throughout the UK.
This year the normal guest chapter has been replaced with an "historic" chapter, as 2011 marks the 25th anniversary of HM losing her final locomotive allocation.
2011 marked the 25th anniversary of HM finally losing her allocation of locomotives with the final handful of shunters being transferred away to nearby Holbeck, the main line locos having been reallocated elsewhere three years previously. This act effectively saw the depot reclassified from an MPD to LIP and stabling point. Despite this the shunter locations stayed the same and they were still crewed by HM crew and drivers, some carrying the HM depot sticker or"stencil" for many years to come and in some cases until withdrawal.
In the chapter I have included images of HM allocated locomotives at work as well as retrospective images from the period the depot was open along with a few images of former HM locos later in their careers. Also a list of all the locomotives ever to have been allocated to the depot is included.
