Over het boek
A3L3XZAND3R Harris does go deep and if you want to know why he spells his name with “3s” where the
letter “e” should be, you will have to attend the show and ask him. He is a thinker in the best sense of theword, exploring purpose behind action and spirit beneath reason, always searching in life and in his work, for the “essence” of matter. A3 takes a creative stance to observing and follows his own advice to others:“Take a breath, enjoy what’s around you, reflect upon it, and find a way to look at it through someoneelse’s eyes. Doing that will change the way you see things.”
A3’s first show, at the age of 15, was a huge success and he’s never looked back. He studied drawing, glassblowing, painting, and sculpture at California State University Chico, then, yearning for a broader perspective, A3 was accepted to a summer program at the Florence Academy. When he returned to the states he burned to return to Italy to continue the education he started there, to learn, to train and explore, surrounded by some of the most talented young artists in the world.
He bought a one-way ticket, a risk that solidified his path as an artist. With a wait-list of 400 students, while he stood in the administration office, he was accepted by portfolio to the Florence Academy in Italy. Intrigued by sculpture and constantly curious, he also studied with The Repin Academy in St. Petersburg, Russia, reflecting upon the soul of art, and today, it is as if he engages the impossible in his work. His landscapes are expansive with endless skies, his abstracts ebb and flow with emotion and poise, and his sculpture and figural drawings bring forth the spirit of blood thumping through veins. A3L3XZAND3R Harris is true talent.
A3L3XZAND3R’s work is widely collected and his work is included in numerous notable permanent classical and contemporary, private, public and corporate collections throughout the world.
