Charles Baudelaire said that “Photography is the memory of eyes.” The photos in this book are taken in Northern Cyprus as part of an ongoing project which attempts to reconstruct and preserve the visual memory of my childhood and relationship to the land and environment in this remote location. Photos are shot in the village of Arapköy located in the divided island of Cyprus and in the internationally unrecognized Northern side.
