Over het boek
The Family of Football presents a collection of photographs by Alastair Holden. Since 2008 Alastair Holden has created and developed his artwork through photography into a significant documentary approach of portraiture in the community – his work tell stories of a social life, of realism, selective randomness and the passage of time.
This book features a range of black and white photographs that explores the norm of technically correct images to the more extreme and personal ad-hoc and haphazard. It brings in question realism in portrait documentary and experiments with the concept of non-portrait photography. The Family of Football is a personal study of the community that exists within the Football Club Whitley Bay FC and was shot over a period of 6 months.
