Unlike many, travelling is a retrospective journey to me. I learnt about the world's many famous places from the animations I watched with her over the years, and used to think the world is all there for us to explore together, until one day, I realized the world has become no more than a crumbling ring of ruins ever since she's left. I started to venture into the continents but the footprints I made in every city seem only shallower and more ethereal than ever. How strange it is when a place visited is even more surreal than previously imagined. And the images I captured, albeit a fleeting impression, are even more tangible than my physical presence there, in that moment and in the present.
