The 36 collages in this book include my favorite works of the last few years. Following David Hockney's example, they combine multiple images to manipulate space and time as well as the cadence of perception. Their creation has a different rhythm than conventional photography: from the developing of a concept and shooting plan through assembling the resulting mosaic of individual photographs into a coherent whole. Occasionally a collage comes together almost instantly, often it takes many revisions, and sometimes it only emerges years after the first try.
