These poems were written during a Poetry class I took in college in 2003. The stories told here come from a journey of teenage insecurities and loneliness, of many questions about myself - career choices, relationship choices - and few answers about the road ahead. Writing poetry helped me let go of the darkness and feel confident in my individuality. Life is full of possibilities and by deciding not to give up, I saw the beginning of a new perspective on life.



This book was written at the moment I took a detour off my gravel road past. Some poems reflect the dust that was still in my eyes, and some reflect the smoother road ahead.
