Over het boek
The following pages show the process involved in installing Pile, Pipe II. This piece was constructed using a mix of soil and gravel from the waste ground to the rear of the old Happit shop, 364 Morningside Road, Edinburgh. The old sewage pipe used here is from the Grimescar Valley, Huddersfield. Following on from Pile, Pipe I this piece was constructed using a similar method which allowed the Pile to take shape according to the space Here we see the Pile begin to envelop the wall against which it sits, adding the feeling of belonging while maintaining a certain ambiguity which provokes the question 'why is it here?'.
