Over het boek
Welcome to West Liberty, Iowa, the rural home of 3,500 souls. In 2008, I spent a year documenting the evolution of this remote town undergoing major demographic shifts. The mix of transient immigrants looking for work, other immigrants settled with established businesses, some across multiple generations, and white families, many of which lived in the area as long as anyone could remember creates a cultural crossroads The intimacy of this otherwise isolated town begs the same universal questions we continue to examine across America everyday: Who are we and what are our shared values? How can we relate to one another, respect our differences, and co-exist in a way that creates community rather than division?
