Over het boek
The portraits for this book were photographed using only an iPhone. The project began after an evening teaching class at The Catholic University of America where I am an adjunct professor of photography. My advanced digital photography students, having been given a semester’s assignment of creating a book based upon a theme of their choosing, were working on their assignments when it dawned on me that I too could produce a book of my own. The obstacles; choice of camera, subject matter and the fact that I had only one week in which to complete the book.
For the camera, I decided to use my iPhone. There are no exposure, cropping, zooming or other adjustments that may be utilized. Just point, shoot and hope that the image is not blurred due to camera movement! The most simplistic approach to a camera possible. For the subject matter, I decided to photograph people that I know in different lines of work. Also, I needed people who could appreciate my odd approach to this project!
Enjoy!
