"PERU ROCKS!" was the 2008 Concert & "Climb Back From Cancer"™ put together by the Love Hope Strength foundation (LHS).



Sixty-two musicians, cancer survivors and supporters from seven different countries set out upon a twelve day adventure with a mission to raise money and awareness for cancer care in Peru. Included were members of The Fixx, Fastball, The Alarm and musicians from United Kingdom and Australia. The sixty-third member's ashes also made it, as friends and family fulfilled his wish to be a part of the adventure, even if he had to be carried. Many others traveled along via internet journal postings, daily video podcasts, and photos which were uploaded each day.



LHS raised enough money from the event to fund the first mobile cancer unit which is estimated to treat 30,000 people per year in remote regions of Peru. The LHS Peru chapter is in formation and will continue to raise funds for care in Peru.
