Over het boek
I was in my mid-thirties when I took these photographs on the streets of Cape Town. As a bearded, longhaired, white guy I was treated with wary bemusement by the people I photographed. This was a time of change and uncertainty in South Africa, when most people were anxious about the future of the country, and was just prior to the momentous events of the 1976 student uprising.
