A photographic guide through parts of the Cascade Mountains takes the viewer on hikes on well-known trails: Heather Trail, in E.C. Manning Provincial Park in British Columbia, plus Chain-Lakes and Partridge-Ridge Trail, in Mt. Baker-Snoqualmie National Forest in Washington. In summer, numerous wildflowers bloom in abundance in the Cascade meadows. It takes one's breath away, as one stands there in awe taking in the 360-degree views. Although the images in this book are but a sampling of the vast landscape and the flora and fauna found in it, Gerry Bates hopes that she has been able to capture Cascades' bounty of beauty.
