Over het boek
Share the adventure as ten university students and their professor explore Mt. Baker, home to the world-record, single-season record snowfall of 95 feet. The students designed and built snow shelters on campus in Indiana, flew them cross-country, and hauled them up the mountain. At a glacier halfway up, they reassembled their structures and tested them for durability and functionality. They then set out to explore the mountain's four distinct ecosystems--Pacific rain forest, subalpine, alpine and glacier--in a single hike. In "Kulshan: An Architecture for Extreme Environments Adventure," they share their adventure and lessons learned for adapting to a changing climate in photos from this extraordinary environment.
