Over het boek
A retrospective of Lisa Temple-Cox's artist residency at Christchurch Mansion, Ipswich, Suffolk. This residency accompanied the exhibition "Thomas Wolsey: Ipswich's Greatest Son", which was on show at the Wolsey Gallery in the mansion between October 2017 and April 2018. Central to the exhibition was a display of the Wolsey Angels, a set of Renaissance bronzes first commissioned by Cardinal Wolsey for his grand tomb. After his fall from grace, they were missing for centuries before being reunited and bought for the nation by the V&A. This exhibition, in Wolsey's home town, was their first appearance outside of London. The book shows outcomes of a community engagement programme with various groups in Ipswich, as well as the artist's own response to the exhibition.
