The photos were taken through the windows
of a bus as it dodged cows, goats, and boars;
careened around roundabouts; zig-zagged ahead
of motorcycles, trucks, and three-wheeled tuk-tuks;
and rumbled over construction debris on dusty,
unpaved roads during a 2017 visit to seven cities
in northeastern India—Delhi, Agra, Ranthambore,
Jaipur, Jodhpur, Udaipur, and Mumbai.

Photography is a second career for me, a return to a major interest of mine since childhood. It follows a successful primary career as a packaging designer and design firm executive in Manhattan. My photography seeks to demonstrate what I believe are similarities between photographs and consumer product packaging: both aim to tell a story in a confined space, to maximize the emotional impact on the viewer, to explain and to educate.
