Prior to graduating college, Bong joined a research/community outreach as part of academic requirements. He also brought a couple of cameras and about ten or so rolls of film. In a remote rural barrio in Ifugao, he managed to capture a time capsule of life. This is in the context where before mobile phones, hardly anyone owned cameras, and the few that did, usually bought a 12 exposure roll that stretched out to cover a Christmas gathering, a Valentine's date, a graduation, a day at the beach, a birthday or two ... until the next Christmas.
