Over het boek
These photographs chronicle Occupy Wall Street in New York City, September 17 to November 15, 2011, and intended to support the continuing examination of social and financial fairness, while asking the viewer to challenge oversimplified solutions. Looking at the mix of protestors, one may wonder if they were representative, but does that really matter? Written on their faces and placards, the cry for a better world rings clear. They worked hard to establish a community of support and equality of voice. Accepting the challenge before us is important as a bridge to awareness. Awareness that must lead to action directed at multiple points of leverage. There is clearly no simple solution and the problems we have created require ongoing cycles of intervention, reflection, and adjustment rather than class warfare over artificial dichotomies.
