Gathered in this zine is the writing and artwork created by participants of DSTL Arts’ Conchas y Café creative writing classes for adults. Through poetry and short fiction, drawings and photo composition, these workshops empower participants as the artists they are, helping them develop new skills in storytelling.

The theme for Conchas y Café Zine; Volume 4, Issue 3, is Code Switching. Through poetry that reflects on language in all of its forms, including bilingualism, body language, and how we adapt and modify in relation to such forms of communication, we attempt to develop an idea of what it means to truly switch between codes.
