"Errances côtières" (Coastal Wanderings) is a photo book containing 52 images that were gathered over a 7 year period (between 2011 and 2018) in small seaside towns of the South of England and of Brittany.
Walking and photographing what were at first new and unfamiliar shores was a way to feel more at home with my new surroundings. And my surroundings were to change many times over the course of those 7 years, sometimes for the better, sometimes for the worse. Still I carried on exploring the coasts with my camera.
Six months was the longest I spent away from the sea - subconsciously knowing it was there brought me peace and when the mood hit a low it soon became the default destination to wander aimlessly.
I would roam for a couple of hours along the coastline in search of colour in a world that is mostly grey. Occasionally the sun comes out and for a few seconds lights up the scenery, the colours that were flat become vibrant and oversaturated. This is my favourite time to strike.
