Over het boek
This book is the culmination of a month-long collaboration between a photography class at Quisqueya Christian School (QCS), a private English-speaking school and a group of students from Timkatec, a vocational training center. The QCS students shared their recently-acquired photography skills to the Timkatec students, who in turn came back with documentation of surprising and hidden corners of Haiti that few of us had seen before. In a sense, this was a dialogue in which two groups of young artists shared perspectives with one another and found common ground in their love for photography.
The students you’ve met here are diverse. All seven of them are Haitian and live in Port-au-Prince, but they each have a unique background and experience growing up in Haiti. They haven’t told you their story in many words, but hopefully you can see through their eyes and their camera lens, something about the world that they know.
