Over het boek
The Pichincha province of northern Ecuador is a mecca for birders. Just a short drive from Quito lie lush, bird-laden forests. From the cloud forests of Bellavista and Mindo, to the lower elevations of Milpe and Los Bancos, to the high altitude temperate forest of Yanacocha Reserve—hummingbirds, tanagers, antipittas, toucans, and other beautiful species abound. The area is especially rich in humming-birds; of Ecuador's approximately 131 hummingbird species, at least 40 can be found in this immediate area; many of them pictured in this book.
IMPORTANT NOTE: The first chapter of this book, "Hummingbirds", is identical to the full book "Jewels of Northern Ecuador." This book contains the following additional chapters: 'Tanagers & Honeycreepers', 'Antpittas', and 'Others', in 30 additional pages.
