Paean to Paris, paean to the master-image of machine age modernity.
The images transition from light to dark, from ephemeral moment to the enduring memory.
Two experiences were the genesis of this project.
First, travelling to Mount St Victoire, Aix-en-Provence — Paul Cézanne's lifelong muse — the subject of a plethora of work. Second, seeing an exhibition held in Paris of Hokusai's "36 Views of Mount Fuji", a multi-viewpoint series that includes the iconic "Great Wave".
